皆さまお久しぶりです。
今日は、Thompson Revers UniversityのReturn to Registered Nurse Practice(RRNP)コースの必要書類についてお知らせしたいと思います。
ThompsonのRRNPについては、以前も2回ほど取り上げさせていただいたと思います。

ThompsonはKPUに比べると、Re-entry Programに必要な書類が多いです。
- A letter of assessment form from the BCCNP stating eligibility for registration.
- A Nursing Community Assessment Service (NCAS) summary. An applicant must have 30% or more “emergent” (out of the 15 categories assessed by the NCAS) overall to enter the program. The safety, assessment, and therapeutic communication competencies must be at the emergent level.
- Official post-secondary transcript(s)
- Documented evidence of RN practice/employment history
- Documented evidence of current employment as a licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or a Health Care Assistant (HCA) in a care facility or hospital in the Canadian Health Care system with a minimum of 1600 hours.
- Resume (include whether employment is full-time, part-time, or casual.
- A completed and signed Requisite Skills and Abilities form
ここで厄介なのが、３、４、５番の書類たちです。
まずは3番のOfficial post-secondary transcript(s)から見ていきましょう。
これは、日本の看護学校が発行するTranscriptではありません。
Thompsonから入学許可が下りると、Emailが来るのですが、そこにどのようにTranscriptを申請するのか書かれています。
” Transcripts coming from outside Canada or the United States must be evaluated by a recognized/approved international credential evaluation service. ”
Recognized/Approved international credential evaluation service…何だろうと思う方もいると思います。
これは、私たちが日本の看護学校で履修した内容が、カナダの看護教育と比べてどうなのか、という比較検討する第三者機関です。
Credential Evaluation Serviceを下に挙げておくので、参考にされて下さい。

私はBCITにあるICESを利用しました。
ここで注意なのが、申請にかなり時間がかかるので、時間があるときに準備しておくことをお勧めします。
ICESのサイトを見てもらえばわかるのですが、最終的なTranscriptが発行されるまでに、約４～７週間程かかります。
私はケアエイドの資格を取るときにこのICESのTranscriptが必要だったので、すでに3番の書類については取得済でした。
しかし、一部の人は申請しなければならないので、暇なときに申請しておきましょう：）
そしてThompsonが書類の提出を求めてきたときに、再発行手続きをすればいいのです。
次は4番のDocumented evidence of RN practice/employment historyについてです。
これは日本で勤めていた病院に連絡を取り、上司に書類をお願いしなくてはいけません。
時間があるとき、又は日本に帰国した際に書類を作成しておくことをお勧めします。
最後に5番の書類ですが、これはThompsonが指定した書類があるので、それに上司にお願いしてサインをしてもらいます。
私はケアエイドのカジュアルとして施設を何個か掛け持ちしていたため、Emailで元勤務先の上司にお願いして書類を作成していただきました。
以上の様に、Thompsonは結構書類が面倒くさいです。
時間があるときに着々と準備しておきましょう：)
